The Blended Learning in the Liberal Arts Conference is a forum for scholars and academics to present and share their practices, methods, experiences, and findings related to blended learning. We understand blended learning as any combination of online and face-to-face instruction that is intended to support, enhance, and develop high-impact learning experiences that embody the values of a liberal arts education.
We are now accepting proposals for the next Blended Learning in the Liberal Arts Conference, which will take place on the Bryn Mawr College campus on May 20–21, 2020. To learn more about past presentations, visit the conference archive. The deadline for proposals is February 16, 2020.
Call for Proposals
We invite proposals on topics including, but not limited to:
Digital competencies, digital citizenship, and digital wellness
Experiential and service learning
Blended learning spaces, libraries and resource centers
Task-based tech-mediated learning
Assistive technology and accessibility
Blended learning beyond the single course
Diversity, equity, and inclusion in blended experiences
Proposals that include critical perspectives on these topics, promote blended learning beyond single courses, and stimulate discussion about digital culture resistance are particularly welcome.
Most presenters at BlendedLAC are faculty and academic professionals from and beyond liberal arts colleges. We also seek presentations that promote student voices, including projects in which students are key collaborators, or that encourage students as knowers.
Proposals must follow one of the following formats:
- 20-minute presentations including praxis reports, implementation blueprints, tech demos, and action research
- 75-minute panels (at least three presenters offer different perspectives)
- 75-minute hands-on interactive workshops
- 5-minute lightning round presentations
Submitting your proposal
Please note that you will need to create a free account in our BePress system in order to make a submission. Submit a 250-400-word proposal describing your project or topic and its connection to blended learning. Proposals will be reviewed based on their relevance to the conference, pedagogical soundness, and presentational outlook. The deadline for proposals is February 16, 2020. Presenters will be notified of their acceptance by February 28, 2020.
