Position Summary:

Job Posting ID: 900193

HHSS invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Psychology, with an area of interest in social psychology, creative psychology, and the affective sciences, beginning August 16, 2015.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability and willingness to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary department and with a wide range of students, staff, and colleagues. HHSS teaches undergraduate students only and does not have laboratory space; therefore the department considers psychology first and foremost as an integral approach within the social sciences. Applicants with a broad understanding of psychology as an academic discipline (rather than as a clinical practice) and strong skills in undergraduate teaching will be favored.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in psychology. ABDs will only be considered if they have a scheduled defense date for dissertation. Candidates must demonstrate teaching effectiveness and a willingness to work with undergraduates in a liberal arts setting, and have a record of scholarly accomplishment or promise.
