Registration open: Arab Women, Media, and Sexuality conference



Registration is now open for the Arab Women, Media, and Sexuality

conference, to take place in York on May 26th, 2012. This international

conference is hosted and organised by the Centre for Women?s Studies at the

University of York/UK. It investigates the interdisciplinary study of

sexuality, media, and gender from an Arab perspective and the intersection

between all three. The AWMS conference aims to provide grounds for

discussion and analysis of these three disciplines and to encourage debate,

research and networking in these fields.


Due to the unanticipated volume of interest, the conference will run

concurrent panels according to the following provisional programme:

The panels will feature papers by delegates traveling to York from all over

the world. A few delegates will be offering papers through long-distance

conferencing. The event itself will be hosted in the Berrick Saul Building

in the University of York campus, in the UK. More information can be found

include documentation, refreshments, lunch, and the wine/juice reception at
