Today it was announced by our state government that, due to budget cuts, our State of Georgia Archives would be closed to the public on November 1. Historians, librarians, educators and archivists are shocked at this disregard for public access to historical artifacts and documents. Could you take just one moment to sign our petition to the governor respectfully requesting he reverse this decision? Georgia would be the only state in the US in which this occurred. For researchers on the present and future, we ask for your help.
