Welcome to the DML Winners' Hub

DML Competition grantees came here to blog about their work, participate in forums, attend webinars, share lessons learned, and network with the larger community. As of 2017, the Winners' Hub is no longer active, but is available as a rich archive featuring award-winning Digital Media and Learning projects and grantee reflections on innovation in connected learning environments.

The Digital Media and Learning Competition was a program designed to find and to inspire the most novel uses of new media in support of connected learning. Between 2007 and 2017, the Competition awarded over $13 million to more than 100 projects — including games, mobile phone applications, virtual worlds, social networks, playlists for learning, and digital badge platforms — that explored how technologies are changing the way people learn and participate in daily life. The Competition was supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation through a grant to the University of California, Irvine, and was administered by HASTAC. Learn more about the DML Competitions
