Hi everyone! I'm a PhD candidate and Mellon Digital Humanities Fellow at the University of Southern California. My research interests include American and Indonesian literatures, Southeast Asian American Studies, feminist media praxis, theories of the archive, digital pedagogies, and remix culture.
I am entering the beginning stages of my dissertation, which analyzes post-1965, post-genocide Indonesian/Indonesian-American cultural productions (literature, film, digital video) and emphasizes how Indonesia's history and US imperialism across the Pacific are critically intertwined. I focus on works that mobilize poetic resistance and form alternative archives beyond state-sanctioned narratives, and that gesture towards a future of transformation, social recovery, and community collaborations.
I'm planning on workshopping material from the first dissertation chapter I'm working on, which focuses on films made collaboratively by women in Indonesia. I'm very much looking forward to the FSDW and to meeting all of you!
