What Does a Successful Academic Library Look Like?

There seems to be consensus that libraries must change. Will libraries be collaborative learning spaces with resources accessible via the cloud and professional consultants available to help on projects? Or does success mean just staying open for business? I've started the convseration on a different website: and I'm very interested in gathering people's perspectives.

I'm wondering if it's too hard to define success in this case. Or, maybe people don't want to take a risk. In that case, what are libraries currently doing that is inhibiting their ability to be successful. Please feel free to continue the discussion here if you wish:
