Blog Post

I would like to thank Fiona Barnett and everyone at HASTAC for the warm welcome to the community as a new HASTAC Scholar for 2010-2011.  As a new Scholar for 2010-2011 I thought it would be nice to introduce myself to the community.  My name is Shawn Moore and I'm a second year Ph.D. student in the English department at Texas A&M University.  I have two fields of study at Texas A&M.  I am a medievalist working primarily on Middle English romances of the 12th to 14th centuries and I am studying digital theories and rhetorics with a focus on how digital studies is changing traditional modes of medieval scholarship.  I am also working on the Digital Humanities Certificate for the Digital Humanities initiative.

I am extremely excited to be joining the HASTAC community and I look forward to blogging more about my scholarship and I am looking forward to working with other scholars in the program.

On a side note I just wanted to let everyone know, for those of us in the Southwestern region, that the University of Texas at Austin is sponsoring a lecture with Paul D. Miller a.k.a. Dj Spooky.  I have included the link for the announcement.  The lecture will be focusing on Miller's book Sound Unbound and it should be an interesting lecture.“sound-unbound”
