Survey on Data Management in Academic Libraries

On behalf of the University of North Texas Libraries, I invite the HASTAC community to take part in a survey of key stakeholders in data management at universities and academic libraries.

Several Federal funding agencies - including the NEH/ODH - now require data management plans in grant applications, creating a range of opportunities and challenges for researchers, libraries, and repositories as they respond to these mandates. We are seeking the input of a wide variety of stakeholders in the research community about the role of university libraries in supporting the data management needs of researchers.

Your participation in this survey will help shape recommendations for the future of data management in research libraries.

The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. If you are unable to complete the survey in one sitting, you may save your progress and return to the survey at a later time.

The survey is located at:

For questions about the survey, or our ongoing research, please email Results of the survey will be made available on the project website: and in a final report to be published by the Council on Library and Information Resources in 2013. Follow @DataRes for project updates and news.
