First, I'd like to apologize for being so late to introducing myself. There is no excuse for this kind of delinquency and is by no means typical of me. That being said, let's get on with it.
Hi! My name is Molly and I am a student at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I am an undergraduate English major with an emphasis in creative writing and I am also pursuing a French minor. I am honored to be a 2013-14 HASTAC Scholar and I cannot wait to research and learn alongside all of you! I am currently taking a Graphics Communications class because I am interested in how technology molds and defines how we learn in our 21st century world and I am thrilled to be able to take what I've learned from HASTAC and share it with my class.
What I want to contribute to HASTAC includes, but is not limited to: how technology serves in a learning environment, new uses of technology in the humanities departments, the evolution of the technological world and the future of technology, and the development of media in film, music, and the digital world of the internet. I am also interested in seeing how technology has changed the way people learn as a whole, from online classes to Youtube tutorials.
I have a wide range of personal interests. Primarily, I am passionate about writing. I enjoy writing poetry and historical fiction. One of my goals for this year is to discover what kind of role new technology has in the writing fields and hopefully gain some ground on my ability to utilize such technology so as to aid me in pursuing my goal of being an author. I would like to expand my knowledge on new technology and how it affects the way we operate within the classroom environment as well as how it functions in making students life long learners outside of the classroom.
I am looking forward to working with everyone and cannot wait to get started!
