Hey everyone. I'm really excited to be working as part of the HASTAC team over the next year! I'm a first year PhD student in French Studies at Queen's University Belfast. I have just completed my Masters where I focused on the Salem Witch Trials and the Irish Slave Trade as the topic for my dissertation. During this research I began to hone in on the ethics of archiving and I tried to encorporate alternative archival practices. This is pretty much the foundation of my PhD where I will be continuing this research, whilst also being partnered with the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland. Throughout my PhD and my year as a HASTAC scholar I hope to learn more about the Digital Humanities and what digitization could mean for the future of archiving/commemoration/preservation.
