It is with great pleasure that I introduce the latest member of our team at HASTAC Central, Sheryl Grant. Sheryl is our new HASTAC/MacArthur Foundation Digital Media & Learning Competition Director of Social Networking, taking over for Fred Stutzman in our efforts to promote the activities of the Competition Winners and to facilitate cross-project exchange of ideas and insights, successes and challenges.
Sheryl joins the HASTAC DML team from the prestigious School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she is a master's degree candidate. She is a former instructor for UNC-ITS Teaching & Learning, and coordinator for the Community Workshop Series, an award-winning program serving free information literacy workshops to the general public. She has a BA in English from The Evergreen State College, and was editor and Web editor for national and local magazines for a decade before returning to graduate school. In a past incarnation, she led a relatively low-tech life as an ocean kayak guide in the Pacific Northwest.
Please join me in welcoming Sheryl to HASTAC. She brings to our team a fresh energy and an infectious enthusiasm. She'll be posting occasionally here on HASTAC.org, but she'll mainly be focused on disseminating news and updates on the Competition at http://www.dmlcompetition.net/blog/. Be sure to visit often for all the latest!
