In the summer of 2010, six months after the earthquake, a group of young people from Port-au-Prince and I created a writing workshop that they decided to call the Konbit des Jeunes Penseurs (Young Thinkers' Konbit). Every so often, I will be posting, in English and Haitian Creole, the poems, essays, and stories of this group of young people who are committed to changing the way people beyond their country view them and their potential.
The blog also contains accounts and photographs from Port-au-Prince, from the day after the disaster up to the present.
It should go without saying that the blog is a continual work-in-progress. All Creole-to-English and English-to-Creole translations are mine, so any errors or unclarities are also mine.
Thanks to the Duke Haiti Lab for their support with this evolving project, and thanks for stopping by the blog!
