Pirandello Potpourri: A Pirandello150 Event

Tuesday, June 28 marked the 149th birthday of Luigi Pirandello (1867 – 1936). Born in Sicily, Pirandello was an Italian dramatist, novelist, poet and short story writer, best known for his plays including "Six Characters in Search of an Author," among his most famous. In 1934 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for "his almost magical power to turn psychological analysis into good theatre."

"Pirandello Potpourri" was a special kick-off that took place on Pirandello's 149th birthday to officially and publicly announce Pirandello150.  A year-long festival that commemorates the 150th anniversary of his birth, Pirandello150 will bring 14 one-act plays, five major productions, a film program, panel discussions and academic seminars to New York City beginning in January 2017. You can support Pirandello150 through their Indiegogo page.
