I saw this post the other day on the blog Book Riot about the ten most overrated book debates. I'm especially interested in #6 or "Are Bloggers Killing Literary Criticism?" I agree with the authors that this is a tired conversation. I think that book bloggers have been and still are breathing new life into reader reception. I'm interested in pushing this conversation a little further, though. How are book bloggers changing how we discuss and think about books? Do they adhere to some of the same tenets of traditional literary criticism? Which ones and why?
What do you think? Have you noticed any trends in these kinds of online book discussions?
