The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship is a born-digital, open access, open peer review academic journal dedicated to comics scholarship. The journal aims to make original, media-specific contributions to the field of comics scholarship and to advance the appreciation of comic art.
We often receive review copies of academic books on comics and occassionally some comics publications as well.. We only receive one copy of each book or publication and announce them as "Received" on our blog at http://blog.comicsgrid.com.
Today we received a review copy of Alan Moore and the Gothic Tradition, edited by Matthew J.A. Green (Manchester University Press, Manchester and New York, 2013), and recently we received a review copy of Comics in French. The European Bande Dessinée in Context, by Laurence Grove (Berghahn Books, New York and Oxford, January 2013).
If you are a graduate student or academic interested in getting one of these publications in exchange for a review for The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship, please complete this Expression of Interest form.
Reviewers get to keep the books. We regret that as an independent academic journal we cannot pay reviewers but we cover the costs of shipping and handling. To find more about our submission process and author guidelines, please go to http://www.comicsgrid.com/about/submissions. The reviews will be published and indexed after editorial quality control in The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship. We regret that we will only contact the selected applicant.
