Greetings everyone! This is my first HASTAC blog, but you'll be hearing much more from me in the next few months as we unroll the HASTAC Scholars program. More on that to come! For the moment, however, it is my great pleasure to share the exciting news that, in addition to Simone Browne and Tim Murray whom Cathy recently blogged about, 3 more new members will be joining the HASTAC Steering Committee!
We welcome Brendesha Tynes, of the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Brendesha works in the Child Development Division, exploring adolescents' experiences of racism online.
We welcome Wendy Hui Kyong Chun, of the Department of Modern Culture and Media at Brown University. With a background in both Systems Design Engineering and English Literature, Wendy does research in new media, comparative media studies, Asian-American culture, and critical theory.
And we welcome Geraldine Heng, Director of Medieval Studies and Perceval Fellow in Medieval Culture of the Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Texas at Austin. Gerry's work explore medieval networks and technology as part of her attention to international Medieval cultures, histories and literatures and feminist, race, & cultural theory.
We are delighted and excited about these newest additions to the HASTAC leadership. Welcome!!!
