I'll join the crowd of introductions from new HASTAC scholars. My name's Deb Streusand, and I am a 1st year PhD student in English at the University of Texas at Austin. I'm a brand-new member of UT's Digital Writing and Research Lab, where I'm part of the Machinic Invention Group. Our group explores microcomputers (like Arduinos and Raspberry Pis) with an eye to their possible teaching applications for rhetoric, writing, or literature. My primary research interest is Shakespeare in performance, and I'm still trying to work out exactly how the digital humanities integrate with that. Lately I've been thinking about digital editing and annotation in the context of producing evolving performance editions of texts. One day I'd love to help create something like a cross between the Folger Digital Texts, the Shakespeare in Production series from Cambridge UP, and Rap Genius.
I've enjoyed reading everyone's introductions, and I look forward to seeing how all of our work develops!
