After the excitement of participating in a fabulous and successful #HASTAC16 conference, and the winding down of another academic year, HASTAC is preparing for quieter summer. The HASTAC team will be on hiatus while we conduct a search for our new HASTAC program coordinator.
What does this mean for you, the community?
While on hiatus, we plan to cover the essential work required to support the community while also seeking out a capable new program coordinator. While this process is underway not much will visibly change in the way the community uses the HASTAC site or in the way the site is run. Site functionality and user support will remain in place.
What community members are most likely to notice is a general dialing-down of communications and staff content curation on HASTAC. The newsletter will come out again in the fall; there will be fewer HASTAC tweets and Facebook posts; and fewer things HASTAC administrators do: storified posts, event wrap-ups, collection creation, forums, HASTAC picks, HASTAC blogs, and so forth.
There may also be a slightly longer lag time in our responses to queries and a more explicit prioritization of support requests based upon their severity. (This is in contrast to handling support on real-time basis, as we tend to do now as much as possible).
We look forward to seeing you all on the HASTAC site over the summer! We’ll be ramping up our communications and other day-to-day community activities again in the fall.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER EVERYBODY AND THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER BANNER YEAR AT HASTAC.ORG!
