First things first: I'm Bryce, and this is my second go around in the HASTAC program. I took a year off as I moved PhD programs from Anthropology to Comm Studies, and wanted to make room for new experiences. But I missed the social networking, the incredibly rad conference, and other such exciting endeavors that I had to come back.
This year as a HASTAC scholar, I'm going to be working on a totally amazing project that I can't quite yet unveil (soon my pretties, soon). As some of you may know, I am the webmistress for Fembot (join our HASTAC group!). My project will be part of my continued work with the fembot collective and our new journal Ada: Journal of Gender, New Media, and Technology launching in November.
Aside from that work, I also blog for modernprimate.com- a feminist-oriented men's satire site for men (now featuring more men, but also women). Some of the content might be NSFW because of bad words, but check it out if you're interested.
I'll also be leaching and lurking through the forums as I work on my dissertation, which you can read about in my bio. I would be incredibly excited to network with folks working on sound studies, history of the senses, urban anything, feminist theory, and/or postcolonialism.
