Although HASTAC focuses on the intersection of arts, science, and technology, I'm not quite sure if steampunk fits. After all, we're dealing with faux-science and technofantasy. Be that as it may, I wanted to take this opportunity to announce a recently published, special issue of Neo-Victorian Studies on the subject of steampunk that was edited by my colleague Rachel Bowser and myself. Just click on the "click here for latest issue" to find articles about steampunk in literature, sculpture, DIY workshops, graphic novels, Star Wars, and more. We have have an article from HASTAC Scholar Patrick Jagoda.
Although an online journal, NVS doesn't allow for comments. But I'd be happy to hear any feedback you have and to pass it on to the authors of the articles.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to get back to working on my phlogiston-powered Segway.
