My name is Elizabeth Ramsay. I am a second year student in the M.A. in English Literature (Public Texts program) at Trent University. I got my Honor’s B.A. in English with a minor in Classics from Trent University. My thesis is on Classical women in Shakespeare. My focus is on Cleopatra, Cressida and Imogen. My main interests are Shakespeare, Women’s studies and source studies. I’ve been developing a theory based on the “Triple Hecate Myth” about how women are perceived by society and how that is represented in Renaissance literature. I intend to defend my Master’s thesis this summer and take a year off before pursuing my Ph.d.
From this workshop I hope to connect with scholars working in my field and get helpful feedback about my thesis from a broader audience.
