Just Seeds-Art, Activism, and Functional Group Blogging

The past year on the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign campus has been full of art activist projects. As an MFA candidate in New Media who is interested in work that exists in the world of art and the world of social change ,simultaneously, I have been particularly excited about this. I intend to use my HASTAC blog platform to highlight both past and current art and activist projects that have touched the UIUC campus in one way or another. First up, Oakland based artist Favianna Rodriguez and the artist collective she belongs to, Just Seeds.

Transmedia Experience Livestreamed from Brazilian High School

Brazilian high school hosts event on Transmedia Storytelling on August 22nd. Heroes and Smallville's associate producer Mark Warshaw will speak and the event will be live streamed.

Always Steaming, Always Streaming (live into Second Life)

Thanks to Pam Spaulding, goddess of Pam's House Blend, and participation by many other local notables, our Web 2.0 workshop provided helpful hints on how to capture the attention of the blogosphere (the portion you want. at least), podcasting, streaming video live into Second Life, and very cool book tools like Library Thing.
