February/March » While the line “according to Wikipedia” pops up occasionally in news stories, it’s relatively rare to see the user-created online encyclopedia cited as a source. But some journalists find it very valuable as a road map to troves of valuable information.

When I descend into cold murky water looking for a shipwreck for historical and archaeological research the quiet and darkness can often make me feel very much alone. But being an underwater archaeologist and the director of an online museum I know I can never do either of those jobs by myself. There is always a team from various sciences there to help raise up the stories of our past from their watery graves.

What is the social and psychological impact of real time ‘news' on the internet? Does it connect the human need for immediacy with the real world? How does the remediation of the ‘news' directly effect U.S. culture? and How it is skewing what we place value in? How will the news evolve in the future?
