This review of PBS's Digital Nation is a reblog from my own blog, buried yesterday in an announcement that our "Reimagining Learning" competition was opening yesterday.  I got carried away.   For those who have emailed me confused about where I offered my comments on the PBS special, I'm reblogging here.   Feel free to add your own comments and opinions below.

Video Games:Good for Kids' Health?

New York and Washington, June 23, 2009 ? As the President and Congress seek to reform the health care system and address the glaring gaps in our nation?s educational performance, the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop released a report today that specifies how increased national investment in research-based digital games can play a cost-effective and transformative role.  The report Game Changer: Investing in Digital Play to Advance Children?s Learning and Health provides recommendations for the media industry, government, philanthropy and academia to harness the appeal of digital games to improve children?s health and learning. 

Too Much Email??

My Facebook Friend and Real Life Neighbor, Melynn, asked what I thought of this LA Times article "You've Got Too Much Email." It took me a while to answer because, well, I had too much email . . . but, while I agree about the quantity of info we have to sort in our online lives, I don't agree with some of its other premises about either the problems of distraction or online sociality's destruction of real sociality.
