Richard Weinberg is USC's lead on CineGrid, a collaborative project with Calit2, UCSD, the University of Illinois and others. The purpose of this project is to merge the technologies of digital cinema projection and high-speed networks with that of grid computing and scientific visualization, while engaging both the scientific and entertainment communities. The project could eventually involve not only the School of Cinema-TV, but also Annenberg Center and Engineering.
