New Bill introduced for Digital Promise - Urgent
New Bill introduced for Digital Promise - Urgent
Congressmen Yarmuth (D-KY) and Regula (R-OH) along with Congressmen Kennedy (D-RI), Markey (D-MA), Gordon (D-TN), Honda (D-CA), Boucher (D-VA), and Chandler (D-KY) have introduced legislation to create a National Center for Learning Science and Technology Trust Fund. The bill (H.R. 3631) will create a 501(c)3 within the Department of Education that would be dedicated to the principals outlined in our Digital Promise proposal. (Bill Summary). The full text of the bill can be found on our website: www.digitalpromise.org. A "Dear Colleague" is currently circulating and we urge you to call/fax/write your closest Congressional contacts and ask them to join this effort as a co-sponsor. Time is of the essence. Legislation presently under consideration in the Education Committees could serve as a vehicle for our bill.
Sincerely,
The Digital Promise Team

Dear Digital Promise Team,
This is excellent news! Also, here are some more tech advocates on this Cable in the Classroom video. This is a Leaders in Learning video and there are some senators talking about technology: http://www.leadersinlearningawards.org/theevent2007video.html
Perhaps, Digital Promise can partner with Cable in the Classroom? Cable in the Classroom is really awesome! Thought I'd share. Hope the bill passes for all our school children. Thanks for your efforts to make education better.
Kind Regards,
Mechelle : )
