NCSA Plaque Commemorates the Web Browser

SAVE the DATE!  HASTAC 2009 will be at University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana, April 18-19, 2009, partly hosted by the CHASS initiative and NCSA (National Center for Supercomputing Applications), the birthplace of the Web Browser.  UIUC is the institutional home of three of our HASTAC Steering Committee members who will be leading the conference organizing.  It promises to be sensational.

More information to follow as it becomes available from our friends at UIUC:

Allison Clark, Associate Director, Seedbed Initiative for Transdomain Creativity, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

Kevin Franklin, Executive Director, Center for Computing in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Science (CHASS), University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

Brendesha Tynes, Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology, Child Development Division, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Yea! Close to home!

I should be able to make it this time--only a 3 hour drive from St. Louis. :-)

Looking forward to it already.

You will love it. Maybe

You will love it. Maybe even propose a session on Second Life and science, or do a demo of your project . . . it is very very participatory. Kevin Franklin, head of I-CHASS at UIUC, is the lead organizer. It will be great to see you there.

All the best,

Cathy
