Check out the Digital Media and Learning Competition winners' blog to see what these 17 great projects are up to . . . A new Competition will be announced in late August. For a glimpse of some participatory learning in action, check this out now: http://www.dmlcompetition.net/blog/. Our image above is from the Sustainable South Bronx Fab Lab, an incredible project that takes the garbage (literally) that Manhattan dumps in the South Bronx and uses digital fabrication methods to teach kids and adults computer skills, to build community pride, to teach collaborative methods, and to make goods that can then be sold to go back into sustaining the project and the learning community formed around it. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade! Here's a sampling from the Winners blog and, again, here's the url: http://www.dmlcompetition.net/blog/.

The Sustainable South Bronx Fab Lab recently posted about a bunch of new projects - check them out individually, or by browsing the SSBX FabLab blog.
