Berkman @ 10: Watch the live webcast
Information Superhighway to Nowhere
As repoted last month by danah boyd, the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School celebrates its 10th anniversary this week. To mark the occasion, the Center is holding a conference, Berkman @ 10. Today is the first day of events, mostly devoted to plenary sessions and tomorrow will feature lots and lots of breakout sessions. You can see the agenda here, and watch the live webcasts here or in Second Life at the Berkman Island. And although I won't have a chance to take advantage of them (like most bloggers, I have to work sometime), there are lots of social tools available to participate:
Follow the participants on Twitter.
I just viewed the tail end of a discussion on politics and the internet led by John Palfrey, taking questions from a packed audience. (Some of the issues discussed were also mentioned in my online activism entry yesterday). Now they're on lunch, and I'm listening to New Order and various other tunes that are being piped through the webcast. Even if you're not a new wave fan, I encourage you to sign on to see the webcast. There's still plenty more to come in today's program, including Jimmy Wales and Yochai Benkler.
