Spanish Civil War Print Culture

A digital partnership of the University of Illinois, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, NCSA, and I-CHASS to document Spanish Print Culture from 1936 to 1939 has been named a Web Awards Finalist at the 11th Annual South By Southwest Interactive Conference and Festival. Additionally the website was named an honoree at the annual Webby Awards -- a designation given only to the top 15% of 6000 websites submitted. These are the two major design competitions for websites in the United States -- and while they are design focused, they also award for functionality, etc. The collaboration and resulting website is a successful demonstration of University of Illinois, ICHASS and NCSA's cross-disciplinary/arts, humanities & technology initiatives.
