This group’s focus is to examine the changing nature of publishing in the digital age.
It asks what are the new roles and responsibilities of a publishing house (including commercial presses, small presses, and university presses) in this age, and what challenges and opportunities do they face throughout the publishing process from submission to review to distribution.
The digital publishing forum also considers how emerging technologies and mobile devices transform research, scholarship, literature, and pedagogy and reviews new works and innovations and techniques employed by scholars, artists and writers. Do definitions, criteria, of scholarship and literature need to be re-evaluated? How can we most effectively foster (and evaluate) multimodal publications?
The group encourages conversation across the HASTAC community and is open to all members.
