The last time I tried to post to my blog here, it wouldn't let me. So this will be short. If it works, I'll come back and write more when it isn't so late.

Last week we went to Cancun for a family wedding and also visited Chichen Itza. I had never been there before, but I sort of had. In the virtual world. The Mexican Tourist Board recreated several of the Mayan ruins on the Yucatan peninsula in Second Life. An orchestral score and free horses to ride set the mood, along with the stunning visuals. You can't climb the pyramid any more in real live, but Chimera was able to ride a horse up it in Second Life, and even into the inner pyramid chamber where the Jaguar throne stands (or once stood). Two young Mexican women we met were thrilled with the concept and are on the road to becoming Second Life residents--along with the other 80,000 from around the world who visit daily. The Mexican sims are named Visit Mexico and can be found on Map search. Well worth a visit!
