I am headed to the MLA Conference in December 26-28 in Philadelphia and I will be blogging my observations back to the HASTAC community.

"Founded in 1883, the Modern Language Association of America provides opportunities for its members to share their scholarly findings and teaching experiences with colleagues and to discuss trends in the academy. MLA members host an annual convention and other meetings, work with related organizations, and sustain one of the finest publishing programs in the humanities. For over a hundred years, members have worked to strengthen the study and teaching of language and literature."

Here is the link to the conference:

If you are interested in information from a panel please let me know and I will try to attend on behalf of HASTAC

I will be presenting on the morning of the December 28th.

My panel is entitled: Play the Movie: Digital-Video Games and the Cinematic Turn

And my paper is called: Viral Play: Internet Humor, Viral Marketing, and the Ubiquitous Gaming of The Dark Knight,

I look forward to reporting on all of the interesting scholarship that I am sure to find at this conference.

I'll be there as well, giving a talk for the Oil Ontologies panel at noon on 12/29. My paper is titled "Progress, Disaster, Entropy, Permaculture: Towards an Ontology of Limit." I will try to Twitter and HASTAC as well...

Great idea!

Hi Ethan, I'm also on the "Play the Movie" panel, and I'm looking forward to meeting you. You might be interested in a list I've compiled of all the Digital Humanities-related sessions at the 2009 MLA. Lots of great stuff going on, and I've got some difficult decisions about which concurrent sessions I'll be heading to.
