I have been thinking recently about the use of different languages within the sphere of new media - a topic I have not really seen discussed at length. I have been reading the blog of an Austrian professor who writes almost exclusively in German. After reading through months of entries, I realized that the rare times he uses English (aside from specialized terms or direct quotations) it is used for sarcastic comments. Just a note to say that I finally have Internet access in my new Bristol flat!  So i will be able to make up for lost time & join in the dialogue here.  i am loving Bristol, despite the high prices & twisty streets.

Hello! Reading the various discussions that are taking place on the message board & blogs has been a fantastic experience. I have so many thoughts swirling around & I hope soon enough to capture them here in length. As for my own situation - I'm currently in a kind of geographical limbo. I am moving to Bristol, UK for a year to undertake a research project that I hope will be funded by the Worldwide University Network (my application is in process).
